Sekoly Bus – Mobile Literacy and Empowerment for Young and Adults
Objective: Deliver essential literacy and life skills education to remote
communities, empowering adults—especially parents—to contribute meaningfully
to both family and society.
Program Description: The Sekoly Bus is a solar-powered mobile library and classroom that travels to off-road villages each week. Staffed by recent
graduates and local educators, it offers literacy classes, health education, financial literacy, and workshops on documentation.
Implementation Plan:
• Short-term: Convert 4x4 vehicles into mobile learning labs, recruit and train
volunteers, and pilot routes to most isolated areas.
• Long-term: Expand fleet size, increase frequency of visits, and introduce digital
inclusion programs for adults and youth.
Impact Goals:
• Improved adult literacy and practical life skills.
• Increased parental participation in children’s education.
• Empowered rural populations capable of improving their livelihoods and civic
participation.
