A New Light in Education

LVXX Hazavana (Lakilasy Vaovao eXXtracurricular), meaning "New Classroom of Light," is a transformative nonprofit initiative committed to reshaping the educational landscape in Madagascar. With a mission rooted in equity, innovation, and cultural relevance, LVXX Hazavana addresses the systemic challenges faced by underserved communities—particularly in the Androy, Atsimo Andrefana, and Anosy regions—through context-driven, tech-enhanced, community-anchored programs. At the heart of its vision lies the belief that knowledge is hazavana—light—a guiding principle that drives its pursuit of inclusive and holistic development for students and their families.

 

LVXX is likely a stylization of the Latin word Lux, which also means "light" further emphasizing the theme of illumination through knowledge and opportunity.

 

Mission Statement

LVXX Hazavana envisions a Madagascar where every child can learn, thrive, and contribute to their community without having to leave home. We train and mentor motivated Malagasy graduates, connect them with global volunteer educators, and keep school doors open longer through hybrid learning and community programs that blend modern technology with indigenous wisdom.
